Brexit-How Boris has killed it off

The problem you can never solve … is the problem you don’t know you have. This is a simple fact.

When Cameron called the EU Referendum for 2016 this clearly fitted into this category. He did not know he had a problem. How do we know that? Here’s how …

He did not have a plan for Leaving because Leave was not even conceived as a possibility.

It gets worse. The question he asked in the EU Referendum was one that nobody, and I mean nobody, could answer. The person who could answer that question has not been born and, if and when they are, they will have a brain the size of a planet.

The naivety in the question completely ignored the impact, and therefor the reaction of the EU. Now that was plain stupid. The naivety of the question did not ignore Ireland, it did not even consider Ireland. That was doubly stupid.

In fact there were too many stupids to list them all and I bet we can all think of some ourselves.

Putting all that aside, two aspects have incensed me more than just about anything. The first is the number of, mainly English people, generally ‘random’ BBC viewers who chant, ‘just get it done’. None of them have a clue what that means. Perhaps they think that the day after we leave the EU there will be a fanfare and a parade of resplendent butlers will march up our streets bringing us money and great health in abundance and perpetual sunshine. Sorry guys, but oddly, that is not going to happen. If you are one of the older members of society you will probably be immune to any impact other than the collapse of your healthcare, the cost and deterioration of food in the shops. Then the knock on the door from your children returning to the fold as they just lost their job and home. By the way, did I mention, your pension turned out to be a snowflake, it just vanished. Now you may laugh and you may be right to laugh but my second point will wipe the smugness off your face.

WE MUST DELIVER ‘THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE’. DEMOCRACY MUST BE DONE.

Now I am not going to bang on about the illegalities and the lies. My point is more fundamental.

How many people, audience members, phone in listeners, panelist and politicians have used as the basis for their ‘get it done’ plea, the 17.4 million voters who voted to Leave. This would have been overturned by a swing vote of less than 2 million or about two and a half percent.

If less than 2 million people voters voted Leave but did not mean totally sever every aspect of our relationship with the EU then the argument above falls at the first hurdle. So consider this:

The two main factions of Leave are now within the Tory Party ranks and the Brexit Party ranks. There were others within Labour, LDem and other parts of the UK but these are the minor number. If we focus on Tory and Brexit, they clearly make up the bulk of the 17.4 million Leave voters.

On the Brexit side it is without doubt that after three and a half years they have landed full square on their demand to sever all relations with the EU. Fair enough.

After three and a half yours of political mayhem, debate and negotiation with the EU, many Parliamentary votes, a general election and three Prime Ministers the Tory Party have landed full square on a Deal that is backed by the EU and underpinned by the Withdrawal Agreement. This is the Government’s interpretation of the best deal for those Leave voters they represent. It’s a crap deal, but fair enough, it’s the deal on the table from the Government.

So, to summarize. The 17.4 million Leave voters are in 3 camps. They have spent three and a half years settling in to their camps. There are 1. those numerically minor groups of Leavers in Labour, LDem and the rest of the UK, 2. those Leavers in the Sever camp and 3. those in the Government’s Deal camp?

Now we have a bit of a problem. The BBC, the Brexit Party, the Government and MSM speak of the democratic will of 17.4 million voters.

Farage made this distinction very firmly with Andrew Marr on Sunday morning when he confirmed the Brexit Party would not unite with the Government unless and until Boris took the Deal off the table.

How many are there in each of these camps?

If I was being very charitable and gifted the Brexit party with over half the Will of the 17.4 million voters, say 9 million. Is it British Democracy that 9 million people dictate the future of 65 million people?

There is another possibility of course. The racism, xenophobia and gullibility of the English public is being stoked and played by a few hidden billionaires with other interests at heart, protecting dark money from EU Law. They have the ability (the Media) to dress this up as British Democracy. If you hold a copy of the Mail or the Express etc up to your ear, you can actually hear them all laughing!!
