So what has this got to do with politics?  Actually, a hell of a lot.  But, this is just an analogy I hope you will appreciate.

Couple of months ago I went to B&Q and got 5 litres of Dulux Apple white paint for my office.  I eventually for around to painting it and it turned out really well.

This morning I came into my office and everything had been moved, disturbed or put away.  All the stuff I was working on that was on my desk was no longer on my desk?

OK, I had been burgled.  So the first thing was to reach for my phone and call the police.  As I approached the phone I spotted a small yellow sticker – don’t tell me the cheeky bugger has left me a note.  I read it!

‘Please note, you purchased Apple white paint from B&Q some months ago,  The chaps in our lab decided that the colour was not quite what we had intended and a few customers had confirmed this.  Accordingly, they have upgraded the paint to a more pure Apple white which we think you will like – well at least until, they receive further complaints and upgrade it again.  Last night while you were asleep we came into you home and found your office with the old version of Apple white.  We cleared all your work off your desk, moved everything out of the room and got to work repainting your room.  After we had finished we put all the stuff back in although not in the form it was in – sort of all over the floor – but at least we got the repainting done.  When the colour is upgraded again, we will be back to repaint your office again’.

Now, if you discovered this had happened to you – you would go absolutely ballistic.  You would probably march off to Dulux’s office with a whole crowd of other repainted victims and tear their place apart.  And you would be absolutely justified and the police would almost certainly be on your side;

BECAUSE THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLY BEHAVIOUR – RIGHT? RIGHT?

SO WHY THE F*CK TO WE HAVE TO ACCEPT IT WHEN MICROSOFT (OR SHOULD I SAY THE USA – A FOREIGN BELLIGERENT COUNTRY) DO THIS TO ALL OF US EVERY OTHER BLOODY NIGHT!!

These people have the power to crawl all over our personal and private lives as if they have a perfect right.  I know we can switch off auto updates – but, that is not the answer, because over time your computer becomes a dog!

No, the answer is much simpler than that:

DON’T GO FOR APPLE WHITE – GO FOR APPLE MAC!
