Purdah me, Sir

I thought I had heard it all when Osborne announced new powers for Scotland agreed across the 3 main parties, OK the 2 plus LibDems.

Bearing in mind many voters in Scotland have already sent in their postal votes.  Now just supposing someone posted a NO vote then when they heard this latest piece of deception they would have seen that as the last straw and voted YES.  That is absolutely credible.  So, right away the outcome of the referendum has been tampered with.  Oh, nostalgia – it’s a thing of the past!

Amidst claims that referendum ‘Purdah Rules’ have been breached WM immediately claim ‘Purdah Rules’ have NOT been breached.  Sounds a bit like a ‘Clintonism’ to me.  Breaking the rules is bad, very bad, but denying it is infinitely worse.  So have they broken the rules?  You be the judge.

Purdah Rules state clearly that within 28 days before polling the Government on either side must not put out anything that could influence the outcome of the referendum, I repeat anything.  This is NOT within 28 days of polling –

THIS IS IN THE MIDDLE OF POLLING

But it gets worse.  The rule on Purdah is designed to ensure that taxpayers money is not used within this period?

So let’s get this straight, WM claim that the offer of new powers in being made by BETTER TOGETHER

A NON POLITICAL ORGANISATION

Does BETTER TOGETHER decide policy on behalf of the Conservative party, the Westminster Labour Party and the LibDem party? REALLY?

But it gets even worse still.  Not only does BETTER TOGETHER decide policy on new powers for Scotland but they do so without the knowledge of the Government or the Opposition?

Now, if that is not true and any or all of the political parties have been consulted

THEY ARE SPENDING TAXPAYERS MONEY – IN OTHER WORDS THEY ARE A) BREAKING THE RULES AND B) ATTEMPTING TO COVER IT UP

Surely this must warrant a

PUBLIC ENQUIRY
